We enter the Baltic Sea via the Kiel Canal. The trip to Kiel is worthwhile. We cross the estuary of the Elbe along the Dutch and German Wadden Islands and enter the canal near Brunsbüttel. A green waterway follows to Kiel. The Kiel Canal is the world's busiest artificial waterway, oncoming traffic can be gigantic and impressive.
Upon leaving the Kiel fjord we encounter a sea that might also feel like a vast lake. Lots of green, nice cities, beautiful views and a lot of choice. The Baltic Sea connects Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Russia and the Baltic States. Jantje usually roams between Germany, Sweden and Denmark.
This multinational stretch of water is characterized by many faces. An unexpected surprise. Between and during the many lively harbor festivals and events on the Baltic Sea such as the Kielerwoche and Hanse Sail -we conveniently include the Hamburger Hafengeburtstag here- we can accommodate groups and/or individuals on board.
